Talsi Elementary School No 2 was founded in 2003. It is the base school for Talsi State Gymnasium. It is the school where students are offered to acquire knowledge and it is possible to become physicaly and mentally developed there, free and responsible,a patriotic and creative personality.The present number of students in School - Year 2006./2007 are 95.
Students acquire the first degree of the programme of the general secondary education( forms 5 and 6). Educational programme is realized by 29 teachers with higher education, 9 of them are Masters of Arts and Sciences, 2 are learning to become Masters.
Students of Talsi Elementary school No 2 participate in different subject competitions with good results. In 2005 the school started to participate in project Healthy Way of Living at School . In collaboration with Children and Family's Ministry our teachers and parents take part in the project Friendly School for Children till 2008. Until 2008 our school together with Stende Elementary school participates in eMapps.com project. Students and their parents have possibility to collaborate with a social educationalist, a psychologist, a physician and the school speech therapist. In our school there are hobby groups like dancing, woodwork, girls choir, and a hobby group in environmental investigation. Traditional school activities are:

- Concerts for parents and national holidays
- Parents Days
The members of the school parliament take an active part in social life of our school.
