Gimnazjum no.2 in Grebocin named for John Paul II came into being in 1999 after the education reform which introduced schools called gimnazjum (grammar school) in Poland. In school year 2006/2007 there are 252 students taught by 19 teachers. We are a very student-friendly school and we offer a lot of facilities designed specially for our pupils such as:

- computers with Internet access
- gym
- library
- common room
- school buses
- board
- school shop
- psychological and pedagogical help
- medical and therapeutic care
We place emphasis on speaking foreign languages so all of our students learn English and German. We also offer them a lot of extra classes: circles of Polish and other languages, history, ecology, drama, IT; sport activities and choir.
Our school cooperates with other organizations when realizing educational projects, organizes and takes part in many competitions, plays an important role in a local environment by hosting interesting cultural meetings and leading events organized to collect money for charity. Every year we prepare Schools’ Fair to let our students find out about available secondary education and an Open Door Day to promote our school among primary school children.
