IMOTEC is a public non-profit institution offering guidance in advanced technologies and providing services, consultancy, training and development for continuing education learners. The Institute provides support for learners in their professional development in the area of computer skills and knowledge of information technology are concerned.
The Institute’s targets include promoting international co-operation based on applying new technologies and Internet tools by:

  • Initiating and coordinating development of the application of innovative technologies in the process of education.
  • nitiating and coordinating international ICT in education and culture projects.
  • Promoting international co-operation of educators and students on web and mobile technologies-based learning platforms.
  • Promoting training courses on computer literacy and use of innovative technologies in education.
  • Developing and disseminating mobile learning tools.
  • Organising and prosecuting research on the practices of modern ICT in the educational and culture fields
  • Organising in-service courses for adults on how to use ICT and how to apply this knowledge in education.

The Institute has 2 employees and hires freelance teachers, external experts and IT technology consultants.

Its expertise in national and international cooperation includes:

  • 2004 Open Society Fund Lithuania project ‘Developing an information society in rural areas of Lithuania’.
  • 2002-2004 Consultant and partner in Socrates Comenius and Grundtvig projects.
