The Plot

The plot of the story is created as a chain. Children go from place to place, solve various tasks related to the local history of the town. With each solved task they are getting closer to the mysterious man´s name. For more detailed informations, please see the subsection

Plot Point #1 : Source of Water

Situation : Fountain with the statue of St. Jacob .

Fountains used to be a necessity in town. They were the main source of drinking water. The fountain in the square was first mentioned in 1546. Water was supplied from the Belka spring.

Plot Point #2: Source of Food

Situation: Jihlava Gatehouse .

The Gatehouse was built as part of the fortification system in the 16th century. There is Museum of Records and Curiosities which was opened in 1994. This is a unique institution of this kind in Central Europe. The exhibition shows results of the skill, endurance, handiness and original ideas and inventiveness of Czech as well as foreign record breakers.

Plot Point #3: Source of Knowledge

Situation: House of the šrejnar Family.

This house is dominated in the north-western tip of the square. It was named after the rich merchant Krystof šrejnar. Since the middle 1980s it has housed permanent exhibitions of the District Museum.

Plot Point #4: Source of Entertainment

Situation: Muzeum of Bugaboos.

The museum is a display of bugaboos occurring in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in the past as well as in present times. The exhibits are mostly made of wax and in life size.

Plot Point #5: Source of Rest

Situation: Municipal Garden .

The garden is a quiet and pretty place in the centre of the town. In the green of the park there is a garden house, bird cages, benches and a playground for children with climbing frames.
