The Pedagogical Matrix

The subject chosen for the game fits into several educational interdisciplinary paths for all groups. Interdisciplinary paths aim to compile knowledge from different subjects as to be used in a practical way. The paths included in our game are: regional (learning about facts, heroes, habits, customs of our region); multimedia and information (using sources of information, catalogues, archives, writing collections), European (learning about Poland as a part of Europe and European history). These educational paths are being used at all levels of the game. In Polish schools nowadays we put great emphasis on patriotic upbringing and that’s the main reason for choosing history as the topic of our game. Additionally, we thought that the topic is pretty difficult and therefore unrewarding to be taught so it would be a good idea to teach it in the most attractive way that can be imagined.

The fact that makes the topic even more interesting to be chosen is that there are still alive eye witnesses of the tragic events of this particular time in our history, and we can take advantage of their memories.

The game should help to remove gap generation that usually exists, and to help with understanding of the old generation problems by children.

We have a list of educational aims to be gained at schools introduced by Polish Ministry of Education. This is a list of essential educational contents and schools’ curricula must be based on the list. We developed our game in such a way to be in accord with the list of educational contents.
