Báthory István Primary School, Hungary

The circle of the ones willing to claim the services of our school has always been larger than the capacity of the institution. This high demand also refers to the actual state of our school. We hope the fundamental reason of the pupils who are proud and willing to go to our school, and for the various layers of parents claiming and appreciating our pedagogical work is the professional activity developed by our teaching staff during its 28-year period.

We started the 2006/2007 school year with 595 pupils in 22 study groups. The school has 68 employees, the teaching staff has 53 members.

Traditional events in our school:

• A Christmas festive programme is always held by our pupils from different classes each year.
• In February at carnival time we have fancy dress parties in the school gymnasium and once a month our children go to the disco which is also held in this gym.
• During the so called Báthory-week, which is held at the end of May children can take part in different activities like making cakes, sports, competitions (in Hungarian, English, German languages), computer science, Non-stop content full of funny games, asphalt-drawings etc.
• At the end of each schoolyear there is an international handball tournament called Báthory-Cup and from the neighbour countries a few teams come here year by year. We have been in good relationship with them for years.
